It was 3am.
"It’s three in the morning," Soojung allowed her thought to speak for itself as the opening riffs of the first track of her father’s old favorite mix take took off.
The palm of her hand radiated a slowing burning warmth as it made it’s way across the storage compartment between the passenger’s and driver’s seat. The temperature seemed to spike up to burning hot the closer she found herself to her good friend’s upper thigh. “We’re so lucky my dad didn’t catch us driving this thing out of the garage, Channie," she continued. “You’re the worst driver I’ve ever seen in my life, honestly."
"It was pitch dark in there," Chanshik retorted as Soojung gave his thigh a light squeeze and quick slap before she brought it back to her own side.
"Sure." Soojung gave him a small grin as he gaze turned toward the rear view mirror - rolling her eyes lightly at the two girls in the backseat. “Jesus. It’s like watching that octopus at the zoo put it’s sucker up against the glass windows. Do they ever detach?"
Chanshik turned back for a moment to get a better look at the two - letting out a small chuckle as Suji removed her hand from Jinri’s side, flipping them the bird before pressing her girlfriend further into the cushioning of the backseat.
"Apparently not."
Soojung shrugged as the first track on the mix switched over to second - running her tongue along the seam of her bottom lip as she caught sight of a small sign in distance reading that they were around the corner from one of the dozens of parks in the city. “Hey, you should pull over up there," she nodded toward the sign as they passed it.
"Seoul forest? Why? It’s totally bor-…"
"Wanna make out?"
Soojung caught Chanshik gulp back at her question - entirely out of the blue, and not exactly normal territory for the two of them together - as he turned the car toward the road leading toward the park.
"Well, yeah," he answered back - honesty was always the best policy, right? Soojung thought so, at least. “But…, why with me?"
"Because you’re the only available person in here?" Soojung joked.
Chanshik frowned as he turned into a small parking area - putting the car into park as he leaned to the side to get a better look at his best friend.
"And you’re my best friend - and you have a really nice mouth."
Chanshik’s mouth formed into a circle shape - taking Soojung’s answer for what it was - as she moved a hand forward, grabbing for the collar of his shirt. He found himself leaning into the action as she scooted herself further across her seat, grip on his collar loosening as she brought her other hand to his shoulder.
"How do you wanna do this?" Chanshik blurted out. All of his senses flown into overdrive the moment she had touched him; it just seemed that his common sense had been left at the door.
"Don’t you know how to kiss?" Soojung let out a small giggle, breath ghosting against his lips.
"No.., I mean, yes, but I…," Chanshik trailed off with a groan. “Should I put my seat back or something to make more room?"
A laugh emerged from the backseat of the car at his question. “There’s no well in hell I’m letting you press the back of that thing up against me," Suji blurted out, breath ragged before the slurping sound that had taken over the back half of the car through the majority of the ride reappeared.
"You’re so…," Soojung cut herself off with another laugh as her fingers carded through the back of Chanshik’s hair, her forehead pressing firm against his own, lips brushing against his own lightly before dragging her teeth against his bottom lip.
Soojung felt Chanshik ease more against her as she gave his lip a quick, but firm, suck - his hand finally finding it’s way from his side up to the back of her head, meshing their lips closer together. Soojung’s hand found it’s way back to Chanshik’s thigh, scratching at the material of his jeans, tonguing tangling with his own eagerly.
“I could get used to this,” Soojung thought as she grabbed hold of his wrist, preparing herself to guide it up to her shoulder, collarbone, boob..., anything, when...
“Oh, fuck.” Chanshik jerked back from Soojung at the exclamation - shoulder slamming against window of his car door as his eyes flickered toward the back seat of the car.
He squinted through the darkness as Jinri pried herself completely from Suji, leaning back in to give her a quick peck on the cheek as she reached into the front pocket of her heans. “Fuck, fuck...,” she trailed off as she unlocked her phone, the light from the screen accentuating her slowly growing eyes. “I told my mom I’d do some errands with her at, like, six this morning, and you know how she gets, guys, she’ll probably be up in half an hour to primp herself.”
Suji groaned in response Jinri moved back in for another peck. Chanshik started on, his eyes as large as Jinri’s had been seconds prior, before turning back to look a grinning Soojung.
“What?” He let out, giving her an awkward smile as he put the car out of park, looking over his shoulder as he backed out into the road leading back to the freeway.
“Oh..., nothing,” Soojung shrugged as she situated herself comfortably back into her seat. “You know..., my parents never really check up on me on weekend’s until three or four in the afternoon. They’re nice like that - letting me sleep in,” she started back up, index finger tapping against the opening of the glove compartment. “Wanna stay over?”
Chanshik raised an eyebrow. “It’s a little late for a sleepover.”
“It’d be more like a... “sleep in”. Don’t you think we’re a little old for sleepovers anyway?”
“Maybe?”
Soojung shrugged. “Honestly? I kinda want to blow you, but I wouldn’t want to make either of those two jealous back there,” she turned to stick her tongue out at their friend’s in the backseat suggestively, earning the second appearance of Suji’s infamous middle finger flip that night. “You into that?”
Chanshik gulped back, hands tightening around the rubber of the steering wheel.
Soojung’s laughter echoed through the car. It was answer enough for her.
