In Cyberland, we only drink Diet Coke.

Not that it's news to most of you, but I have been briefly away, dashing down to Atlanta on Thanksgiving and returning Tuesday noon-ish. Ordinarily I doubt that would be a big deal. However, because I chose not to sign on or check my email or leave comments during those five-and-a-half epic days, I received more (3) than the usual number (0) of ( Read more... )

I distinctly felt your absence from my life, electonic and otherwise, but had faith that you'd have the wherewithal to keep yourself alive over the break. And there was even some hockey and movie-watching involved! I daresay you flourished, even.

Quite possibly the best recap of our weekend EVER (please ignore the fact that this particular weekend has never occurred before, so there is really very little to compare it to...)!

Did you finish the huge thing you were weaving, or did you just get tired and "finish" it? And while you might not mind being auctioned off, I would!

I held out for one entire repeat of the pattern (the square) with approximately equal buffer strips on all sides. Certainly I didn't use up the 8 yards of warp threads, but I did carefully remove them and store them for later use. Thank you for the scarf idea, for which I forgot to credit you up there.

I wouldn't want to be auctioned off as a galley slave or something, but as the crafting equivalent of a kept woman? Time, space, money, and no particular responsibilties? You go-getter types might not understand the appeal, but oh boy does it sound nice to me.

Well, when you put it like that, I can understand the appeal. Then go for it! :)

A) I can help with all your Rent song-related needs: I have the original Broadway soundtrack on CDs. Well, currently Tom has it in Indiana, but you know, I have it in the grander sense.

B) "Will I?" agreed...on all counts...one of my favorite songs b/c it's so amazing, and that's when I started tearing up as well.

C) I've got you beat: I had a Jonathan Brandis calendar. Oh yeah, I was the shit of all that was dorky boy-craziness.

I... I had a "SeaQuest DSV" calendar. Only one month was Brandis, but since I also kinda had a thing for, uh, Roy Scheider, not to mention the languages guy, it all... dear God. I belong in a support group somewhere.

I know I have told this tale before, but your Uncle Eddie always spoke so highly of his friend Winston (dear, departed Winston). "Having Winston tell the story of your shared experience was always much better than the experience itself." I could say the same for you. Thanks for the read. I, of course, desperately hope to win the lottery just so that I can support you in your pursuit of all things crafty!!
