Most exotic pets are hand-raised these days, especially birds. You could survive better in the wild than they could. It would actually be cruel and inhumane to have them set free.

My parrot, Gonzo, was hatched in an incubator. He has only ever had human contact. And he actually loves his penthouse (cage). He rarely enjoys coming out of it anymore. He'll be 22 in mid-June.
