Pancakes and Waffles: Cook's Illustrated Is The Answer

As mentioned previously, we eat a lot of pancakes and waffles. However, the mixes we have tried just weren't doing it for us. So, I finally dragged out my stack of Cook's Illustrated magazines and found recipes for both buttermilk pancakes and waffles. In the past, my attempts at homemade pancakes have sucked. Can you email or send me a copy of the recipe? I have tried getting boxed pancake mixes, however just like pasta, it is nearly impossible to find pancake mix that isn't made in a factory that also processes eggs. So Aiden can't have it.

Sure! Of course, it has eggs in it, but I suppose you could use egg replacer.

It isn't a problem replacing the eggs when it uses things like flour and other basic ingredients. It is just a problem when things are boxed mixes or prepared items.

I adore Cook's Illustrated. I have a magazine subscription and a website subscription. The website subscription gives you access to all of their published recipes, and has an easy-to-use search engine.

The website hasn't been as much my thing. I think I like the presentation in the magazine more. If they had back issues on CD, that would be the best thing.
