Yeah, I have been on hiatus for a while, haven't I? Well I HAVE been writing, so you should actually see quite a few things from me in the near future, once I get them all polished.

Glad you're enjoying this one so far.

but Nicky! and Gil!

....will need so much snuggling by the time I'm done with them. But rest assured, they'll get it.

This is good in so many ways. Characterization is excellent--the talk between Gil and Greg is so real and sharp that I could hear their voices. Your thoughts on how Nick's ordeal would have changed them both are interesting and more than plausible. The description of the photo of Nick (oh. my. god. who is this creep?) is so well-drawn--we see something of Grissom as well as the photo.

Very much anticipating your next installment.

Yeah, this creep is what prompted my journal post about writing sociopaths. That letter just kinda....appeared in my word processor. Don't know how I did it, and I don't like thinking about it.

Glad you liked the scene with Gil and Greg. It was one of those wierd things; I've cut or re-written so much from my first draft of this story, but that one always stayed, and it wasn't until this final version that I realized why it had to be there. Gil's had something of a blow to the head with a clue by four, and even if he is a little ungraceful regarding interpersonal matters, he does try.

There will probably be another gap before the next post, because I conceive of this in rather large chunks (hence the whole "Book 1" thing). But when I post again, there will be plenty to read.

yay! I'm so happy to see you've got a new story. This is shaping up to be really interesting. Gil's inner conflict about his relationship with Nick really seems to fit their interactions in canon. Can't wait for more!

I've been working on this since Grave Danger aired. This is known as "The Fic that Ate my Life." Hope I can keep you hooked for the ride!

Oh! Edge of my seat, or what? We're overdue for a good, long, juicy, get-into-their-heads post-GD story, and this one is sure fitting the bill. I'm really looking forward to the next section.

*grins* Well thanks! I have to say, I agree with you, which is why I wrote this. Not that I'm not all over the scrummy comfort-fic we've gotten, but I wanted something more. And if no one else was going to write it, guess I had to.
