A.J. had the one of his large sketchbooks out, and he set it on the floor, laying on his stomach with a bucket of pastel colors, even if the only ones he was using were dark earthtones, some black, and a lot of red. Troy came back to the room, having been handwavily out somewhere for most of the day. "Hey," he said, dropping his backpack on his bed as he kicked off his sneakers. "What's up?"

Troy shrugged. "Not all that much," he said. "Feels kinda weird that workshops are over. I did call my parents today, they're finalising my transfer here."

A.J. smirked, but he still didn't look up at all, and he was still drawing. Drawing and talking. The one thing A.J. was exceptional at multitasking in. "I'm definitely not complaining, but they were pretty good workshops. I just hope the regular classes are this cool, you know?"

Annette knocked softly on the doorframe, seeing A.J. working, she didn't want to linger in case he was so involved in his work, so she spoke quickly. "Hey, A.J., I just wanted to say thanks for the other night, and that I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that."

"Hm?" A.J. asked, arching an eyebrow toward Annette's voice, but not lifting his head, as he moved his hand back and forth quickly to fill in a shapeless red form. And then the words really sank in past the buzz of creativity and he glanced up, grinning. "You're better then?" he asked, and bobbed his head, hair falling in his eyes. "Good."

She looked down at what he was doing and nodded. "Yes, thank you." She paused and shifted her feet. "Okay. That's all. I know you're working but I just wanted you to know that I appreciate you being there for me... it was kind."

And now A.J.'s smile turned a little bashful. "It's not like it was difficult or anything," he said. "Just as long as you feel better. And, hey, I'm not sick, so it's all good, you know?"
