Least Favorite Icons 4 - The texture used makes the icon look washed out, the crop is also uninteresting and I can't really tell what the subject is doing. 10 - There is not enough contrast which resulted in the lost of the shadows. The icon is oversharpened, the outline of her face is pixelated. Also, the crop is not well executed. it looks awkward.
Favorite Icon 9 - The crop is great and I like how the right of her face is darker which adds on to the mood of the icon. The sharpening and contrast is awesome too! 8 - Even though the details of the subject's face and hair have been lost, I really like the crop and the texture used.
Can you elaborate on your first least favorite vote's reason of 'the crop is uninteresting', please? I just need a bit more detail on what, in particular, is uninteresting about the crop (or reword that clause so it's clear that the second half of the clause is in relation to the first half clause).
Least Favorite Icons 1 - The icon is too dark, it needs brightened up just a smidge. 8 - Too small of a crop, and it feels a little flat. Maybe just a bit more contrast would make it just right.
Favorite Icon 12- Nice crop, nice use of space, and the text rounds it off nicely. 11 -I like the crops, and the blending of images.
Least Favorite Icons #13 - There doesn't seem to be enough contrast in this image. Also, the crop isn't "dynamic" enough to make the icon really pop, perhaps a closer crop with more contrast would have worked better. #4 - I'm not sure if the creator meant for the text on top to be readable or not, however it isn't, and I think it distracts more from the icon than helps it. Also, the icon could use more contrast, the image seems very dull and dim.
Favorite Icon #5 - Love the composition of this icon, the texture usage along with the crop and text are beautiful. #1 - I like the close crop, and it has just the right amount of contrast.
Least Favorite Icons 4 - The blending of Carrie with the background doesn't seem to work because the edges of Carrie are very blurry and distracting. The use of tiny text at the top is a little overpowering. The text either needed to be bigger so it was readable or it needed to be not as blod so it didn't take away as much from the rest of the icon. 9 - There is too much contrast in the icon. It's white on the left side of the face, but the right is black to the point of not being able to see most of the face. The black side needed to be lighter.
Favorite Icon 12 - The simplicity of the icon works well. The dark text looks nice with the light background. 6 - The vibrant coloring highlights the contrast without overdoing it.
Least Favorite Icons 03 - Carrie is oversharpened around the edges and eye, and her skin appears to have been "smudged", looking unnatural. 04 - Her face is too dark and blurred, you can't really see her features, and the texture/contrast blends her into the background.
Favorite Icon 07 - it's a bit dark for me, but nice way to accent her expression 13 - contrast and sharpening are just right.
