Can you explain a bit more on your first two least favorite votes, please? In particular, what about the cropping in your first vote is inartistic and what about the negative space is awkward? xenylamine wrote up a fantastic piece on critically evaluating icons that I recommend here.
Least Favorite Icons #6 - im not quite sure what was done to the image but it has completely lost definition in the white areas, overpowered by a/the texture. #10 - overall the icon is far too dark + lacks contrast, the texture is seemingly random + surplus. #2 - the texture use overpowers the icon + washes out the contrast. Great crop however.
Favorite Icon ##18 - great use of central crop + contrast, the background is very effective. ##24 - great crop + perfectly sharpened.
Least Favorite Icons #6 - The lighting is way too bright causing the cow to hardly be visible. #10 - A little too dark and could use more contrast. #11 - The tiny text doesn't really add anything to the icon but serves to distract from Sookie. Her face is also a little pixilated.
Favorite Icon #24 - Fantastic crop and contrast. #12 - Nice use of negative space.
Least Favorite Icons #2 - His face is too blurry & there needs to be more contrast. Also, the black bar on the right side is unflattering. #6 - If I didn't know that was supposed to be a cow, I don't think I'd be able to tell what it was a picture of. The parts that should be white on the cow blend into the grey background, which makes it unrecognizable. And the light textures are distracting. #23 - Awkward cropping & blending with the background. The text is too sharp, and the 'B" in brown looks like a "D", which makes the whole quote wrong. :\
Favorite Icon #8 - Nice crop, and the text is perfect. Good font choice, placement, and size. #12 - Great use of negative space and good crop.
Least Favorite Icons 22 - The cropping makes it difficult to know what the icon is about. 04 - It seems a bit over-accentuated and it is difficult to see at first what the icon is about, the cow being cropped a bit too small. 06 - The overall effect seems a bit awkward : once more, it's difficult to see at first what it is all about, and then it seems a bit overdone.
Favorite Icon 01 - The cropping, very close to the face, seems a good idea to catch the subject, and the tiny text produces a nice effect as well, a bit like an unreadable subtitle to the character's thoughts. 13 - The text seems pretty accurate, especially associated with the blurring.
