I think I would have come away with a different impression of kabuki theatre if I hadn't seen a show with costumes designed by Yoshitaka Amano, starring Bando Tamasaburo and Ichikawa Ebizo (both of whom Google identifies as the definite dream cast). It almost made up for all Saeko photos being depleted ;) I blame Chanel, and I need to hit the Taka-an in Takarazuka now.

But the CD's lovely :) There's Napolitan songs too. I still can't believe I fell for her way before I knew she was an operetta buff.

The annoying thing is that in her Takarazuka career, she just missed the cutoff for when most plays started getting put out on DVDs. Her concerts are definitely worth it though, especially the New Year's one - I think I mentioned the poketto myushikaru about cats?
