YES. Although for now I'll settle for more Norbert Leo Butz-ing in the world.

UG, I wouldn't want him to play Catcher... that should be played by Michael or at least Ewan again

Ooh, Cheyenne Jackson might be able to pull that off.

I want a Down with Love musical.

YES. YES. YES. I was so happy to hear a piece of the DWL score in Catch Me If You Can.

I am so excited for this to get here...I've heard really good things about the Seattle production.

Down With Love is so underrated and would be a perfect candidate to be turned into a musical.

It IS underrated! I've always liked it but i know it gets panned...I'd be happy to see it turned into a musical.

I saw this twice during it's run, so I'm kind of really excited to read about the press it has.

I think they did a really good job of adapting the movie, and it's definately not a direct translation. I hadn't seen the film in a looong time, but I went back and rewatched it after I saw the show. All I can say is, the show got some flack for being on the long side (and certain scenes definately needed to be tightened/trimmed), but it simplified and shortened the plot into a much more stage (and time) friendly thing.

Also, the emphasis on the dynamics between fathers and sons is what made the show, at least for me. I mean, I'm a dork for the era and for musicals, but there were scenes that honest-to-God, made me tear up.

I hope this makes it to Bway soon, or at least the cast does a full recording. The demo does not even begin to compare with what the actual cast did with the music.

(Also, the first picture made me excited, because the guy on the far right is Karl Warden, aka the show's dance captain and one half of the Kyle and Karl... )

One of the creators. I'm a huge nerd for Hairspray and this show, so when I saw one of the guys at the stage door I got excited. He was talking with some people and I didn't want to interrupt them, so after he was done, I went up and really politely asked if he would sign my program. He did, but he had this really bitchy attitude about it. IT wasn't outrightly mean, like he straight up ignored me, but I guess in comparison to say, the detached politness of Norbert and Aaron, or the outright enthusiasm of Karl Warden and other ensemble members, it was off-putting. And I know people have bad days/nights, but also, if he didn't want to have to deal with anybody recognizing him, maybe use a different door next time? Anyway, now I get really annoyed whenever I see him (in his cameo bits in films).
