also, punctuating dialogue is difficult

welsh likes long sentences -- he is nostalgic for giant bird cages

I lost he uncomfortable bit -- it didn't fit with the shape of the dialogue.

a lot of the information I thought I was giving to welsh has been pulled back to another chapter

welsh doesn't have reams of information if he's only had a fax ten minutes ago
