Do Americans have pea shooters?

Because Ray is seriously not amused. Not even a little bit.

There was no fucking gun, not even a pea-shooter.

We do have pea shooters. It's usually a straw and you blow to shoot the peas. It's also a slang term for a BB gun.

Yay! I didn't know about the bb gun thing. That gives me even more interesting ideas about Ray's sojourn in Canada.

I don't even think I have met somebody with one, they just seemed to show up in the comics I read as a kid. Our "Dennis the Menace" has one, but that has probably gone the same way as dad spanking Dennis with his slipper.

There are different Dennises on both sides of the pond. They seem to have been conceived at around the same time - which gives fans something to talk about. As far as I can get it your Dennis just starts trouble and annoying Mr Norman. (I saw the cartoon as a kid, it was weird. That and it seemed closer to "Just William" than anything else). Our Dennis is actively anti-social and, well, menacing - if all the dogs in town wind up in the butcher's shop, then it's Dennis who got them there.
