Make sure there is airconditioning. We lived in the top floor, which was basically a box of fiery burning as soon as there was sun. Poor insulation, shitty building quality, and nothing to stop the heat beaming in the wall of windows.

New shiny looking complexes have often been done cheap, so while they look awesome, they can be somewhat flimsy and lacking in sound.
