Cutting back the fat.

This week has seen three site-specific cut backs to spending within my department.   The free fruit that used to be provided for lunch on Monday has gone, as has the vouchers that would be awarded for obtaining certain high acheivement goals or compliments.  But, the most recent has been the announcement that the coffee machines would be withdrawn

I would demand a pay increase to compensate for the loss of the coffee!

Entire shipyards have gone on strike for less!

This is soooooo not how you save money in the public sector, because it is how you lose your most productive staff. National are even more stupid than they were last time they were in government.
