Comrades, if anyone has had any... uh...

[Pause.]

Comrades, could anyone who knows Barron Sharpe personally, just let me know how they first met him?

He changed Buffy's memories. How do I fix it?

[GOD. DAMN IT. Prefect likes Buffy. There's a pause, while Prefect makes an expressive noise of displeasure, while keeping his communicator switched off, then he switches it back on, and replies calmly:]

Just wait. His powers have been reduced to the point that by the end of the week she'll have her own memories back.

[There's a very slight intake of breath.]

Do you know what he made her remember?

That he was in our evil-fighting group a few years back. [Though at a time when Spike was not fighting evil.] She thinks it's your fault I don't remember him.

That's all I can do? Wait?

I could show her a copy of his file regarding this, but it doesn't sound as if she trusts me very much right now. So yes, Comrade, wait. She'll be back to normal in less than five days.

He tried to change Edward Nygma's memories. Edward Nygma beat him up. I'm just... being cautious.

Gee, Comrade. It's almost like a bunch of people warned you this would happen.

...

If you have this at all sorted out by tonight, you want to have a drink or something? Feels like a long time since we've talked.

I'm sorry, Sister. Without your warnings I would never have foreseen the possibility that my inmate would attempt to abuse his powers under any circumstances. Not on the Barge

I'd like to go for a drink though.

...We met when we were kids, at summer camp. Why, what's going on?

I... Sister, I don't think you did meet him when you were children. Do you remember... did you ever see my first post regarding Barron publicly? About why not to hold hands with him?

That's--he wears gloves. What's going on with you two?

Yes, sister, he wears gloves, because when he's not wearing his gloves, if he touches you, he can change your memories.

Or create new ones.

Like that he'd gone to summer camp with you.

Why do ya be carin' how I know members of me own crew?

[FACE. FACE MADE OF LINE.]

Comrade, Barron isn't on your crew. He's... a wizard who can change people's memories. So far two other people have told me that they know him from years ago, and neither of them are Pirates.

[Poor Prefect. TAKE AWAY HIS SHOES TWICE! LOL, best punishment ever!]

You'll be forgivin' me if I ain't going to be takin' advice from the likes of you, considering all it tis that you've done.

[NO ONE WANTS TO LIVE WITHOUT SHOES!]

I can understand that, Comrade, but I have graduated now. I'm a warden. I'm officially no longer evil.

Oh, come on. I didn't attack him. I was just standing there and he attacked me out of the blue. He's lying to you, Prefect. [Lol, Barron's the one lying.]

And you do realize that some people have worked out how to work with their feet after having their hands damaged? [This is true just... highly uncommon.]

Comrade, for a professional criminal, you're not very good at making up imaginative lies.

Your file says that you can't do that though. [Pause.] And anyway, I'm not taking away your socks, Comrade. How's your head doing?

[Private] sharpememory April 6 2011, 22:06:02 UTC
Sometimes the truth isn't as exciting as I'd like. The truth being that warden is insane.

The file is wrong. [Sounding so sure.] And it's not my head I'm worried about. It's my arm.

Comrade why would I believe you? I am honestly open to hearing good reasons why I should do this?

He hurt your wrist didn't he? Have the infirmary people put it in a splint?

[THEN A BRIEF PAUSE]

And Comrade, how many people have you worked in the last week?
