110 - VIDEO. YAY MURDER

Sep 07, 2010 19:59

[Prefect is looking... STRANGELY CONTENT, Maybe even KIND OF HAPPY in a very carefully contained way. He smiles at the camera.]

So... Comrades, I know sometimes it seems like things only ever go wrong here, but... I suppose there are high points. I mean, we... have access to the plants again, I believe? Comrade Persephone? So, you understand, ( Read more... )

Pavi had been largely keeping himself to himself since getting up that morning - checking how the network was looking and seeing (with some satisfaction) that there were fewer faces he recognised than those he didn't. It was a brief attempt at professionalism that probably wouldn't last the week. But when Prefect - to whom he'd been planning to pay a visit soon anyway - appeared on the screen of his communicator in a rare good mood (or at least rare to his recollection), he knew not to put off this second visit any more.

Which brought him - scarred again, and in another white mask, but dressed immaculately - to Prefect's door only a few minutes after the update.

Knock knock.

Prefect felt good! The garden was open again, and despite the consistent vanishing or apparent mental degradation which most of his remaining friends appeared to be suffering... well, it was just hard to take the shine off Sylar getting murdered. At the knock on the door, Prefect shifted up out of his chair, not even stopping to consider how few people came to visit him unannounced.

He pulled open the door briskly, the generic greeting on the very tip of his tongue fading as he instantly recognized the man in front of him.

His mouth hung open in shock for a moment, and somewhere in the back of his mind something connected to the fact that this was almost certainly a flood and there was no reason to assume that this was real, and that if nothing else then he should at least just say something already, but... he couldn't quite find the words and at some point he'd started smiling and he wasn't entirely sure that he could stop just yet.

Smiling and stunned silence were two of Pavi's very favourite responses to his presence. He grinned and spread his arms theatrically.

"You are speechless, fratello? Obviously the Pavi did not lose his touch."

Pavi spreading his arms like that was just inviting Prefect to practice his new ability to touch other human beings without having a nervous breakdown, and sure enough, Prefect darted forward to wrap his arms around the other man and just hug him.

He pressed his cheek lightly against the pale synthetic skin on his friends face, "Comrade-- Brother. I missed you so much."

Prefect, I'm in far too bad a mood to talk to you about this.

Well, Comrade, I already know what hours you have the garden open. I was addressing Persephone.

The plants in the main gardens are always accessible. There wouldn't be any point to have a recreational section if that weren't true. However, the greenhouse and the shed are locked except during certain shifts. I believe Persephone will be covering for me until I'm better, but... Leia Solo is going to be the other supervisor. Persephone only seems to care about the plants.

Comrade, unless this information pertains to you having any intention of changing the hours during which you allow the greenhouse and tools to be unlocked upon your return to work, then you may still rest assured that I was addressing Leia Solo and Persephone.

[FROM ZERO! Iago flips on the camera and smirks, giving a small salute with his uninjured hand, but he won't talk to you yet. Sorry, Prefect. But he did sorta miss his hillbilly friend.]

[Iago holds up his injured hand. It's wrapped up, at least. But, he's still smiling.]

[Prefect leans forward, his expression concerned for a moment, but he smiles again when he realizes that Iago doesn't look unhappy.] What happened? Did someone on board hurt you.

[ALSO THOSE CELLS LOOK FAMILIAR.]

And why are you in Zero?

Not just any murder, Comrade. Sylar's murder.

It would be well accepted if everybody knew him a little better!

[Prefect has never wanted to call O'Brien on being unbelievably goody two shoes so much before in his life.]

Well... That's unfortunate, Comrade.

[PAUSE]

[AND NOW HE'S JUST GRINNING AGAIN.]

I'm not asking for patience, I'm asking you to be the bigger man. If he's going to be an ass, he isn't worth the time you'll waste threatening him.
