I was wrong.

I don't know if you can call this a flood, I don't know for certain if they can be trusted, but god knows the world they talk about... It's better than this. It has to be better than this. There is a light out there in the darkness, a place where we do more than hide in the shadows, a place where change means ( Read more... )

hates change, sales pitch, flood, comrades

Merlin's on our side. Definitely on our side. Michael might be questioning but I don't trust him.

You can count me and the strike team in.

Good to hear it. You think they're up to fighting with us?

What chance do you people think you have of getting your wardens items? without them noticing?

They should be. Yeah. They should.

Here I'm a warden and I know Una's a warden too, but I'll check with my people to see what we can do. If nothing else, we could get the items by physical force. The group of us against one warden won't be a challenge.

The object of taking the items is to hide our movements from them, if we start taking them by force then we tip our hands. For now, just see what you can do by letting them believe you're with them. Weapons, supplies, information. When the time comes to start the attacks, I'll call for your people.

I'm in. Whatever you need.

Getting McCoy out is the first priority.

Don't have one, I just came back. No one's got an item on me.

So you're a free agent? Good.

I don't need to tell you it's going to take a lot to pull this off, Parker. We'll need weapons, we'll need the element of surprise, and in the very real eventuality of heavy casualties, we're probably going to need a very good Doctor.

Do you think you can get together a team to go find us a very good Doctor, Sister?

The CES has already provided an effective cover; relocating there has a tactical advantage to the infirmary. A mountainous scenario is in place, and it will provide far more cover and space should it be needed.

This would have to be brilliantly executed to work, and I am not sure I believe that will happen. It is a small possibility; but possible nonetheless.

This isn't about holing up somewhere and hiding, Sister. We don't have time to fight a guerrilla war here. The CES might have cover, but the infirmary not only gives us supplies, but it cuts theirs off, and it's a central point for us to mount an offensive from.

We have to prepare for the possibility that they will not come to us. If they opt to wait us out until the flood ends then taking the CES makes it a prison for us.

Don't misunderstand me, as a place to hide and prepare, it is perfect, but as a place to fight this battle, it leaves us vulnerable.

Perhaps. But the will become a trap in and of itself when the flood ends. The CES has given us a mountain range; I've scouted a few acceptable points to withdraw to if necessary. In the infirmary, we will be trapped in one room. One large room, but one nonetheless.

If we fortify the infirmary then we have a solid base to fall back on. If they come to us then we fight them on the front lines, if they don't come to us, then we move out and take the corridor. Then the floor. Then we keep on taking until we bring the fight to them.

If we fight from the CES and they don't come to us? Then we must go to them on their terms.

And while I hate to think it, I believe that if this battle is not won before the flood ends? Then it is lost entirely.

I'll keep that in mind. There are a few people on that list who I wouldn't send a single man after, perhaps in your case we can make an exception.

In that case, I'll trust your discretion. Do not reveal your hand too quickly.
