I've thought about this before...the woman has the right to abort if she wants also...what if the man is totally against that and desperately wanted that child? I mean, that's stretching it, but I ponder how sad that is sometimes ("she's a brick and I'm drowning slowly")

Anyway, I bet a law like that would have helped that British woman trying to sue for the release of her frozen embryos that the ex fiance is like, no thanks, I've changed my mind. It's her only chance at a child of her own since an operation, and if the decision is no in the highest court the embryos have to be destroyed within five months.

sad.

The first item: Is something that, well, just sucks for the guy. Until we get to the Star Trek days of being able to transport the baby (embryo, egg/sperm), out of the woman and into an incubator, the woman is always going to have the final say as to whether or not the baby gets to exist.

The second item: Yea, it just might. The guy might still be able to stop it on the grounds that he does not want any children with his dna. But, if the only issue is that he does not want any possibility of financial/moral obligation, the law would allow her to have a baby.
