My boyfriend, Jason, originally worked on the creature suits... though they might have decided to go all CG. I guess we won't know until the film comes out!
cool! i think they are actual suits or puppets or something. i don't think they are 100% cg. your boyfriend worked on the suits but doesn't know if they are going to be used?
Yes, the suits were created but after they were finished, everything went on hiatus. He worked on the film back in 2006 or so... and there were issues with production on whether they wanted to use the suits or just cg. I think it looks best when they do a combination of suits and a bit of cg, but we'll see how it turns out! It seems there are always problems with films getting made, even with huge budgets!
ooh thats right, i heard this movie was supposed to come out in 06 but i think they scrapped everything because warner brothers didn't like the direction and started all over again? that must have been frustrating, doing all that work then not being sure if it was even going to happen! from what i've heard, for the final version its a combination of cgi and real costumes and puppets. i think they are using cgi for the expressions and the faces and stuff. so maybe your boyfriends costumes will see the light of day after all!
