There are days I really regret not working harder to become God-Queen of the Universe.

I think after a long time spent in fandom, any fandom, you become desensitized to a lot of....questionable things. You almost have to, since searching for fic is pretty much reaching into a mixed bag of nuts, and you never know whether you'll come out with a ( Read more... )

But I feel like there is, or I thought there was, a line. A line between portraying it, but as the act of evil it is, and relishing it to the degree that it's practically snuff porn.

I wish LJ had that feature that Facebook does, where I could just 'x' a post off my flist so I didn't have to see it every time I checked it.

i agree with this entire post. i feel like most (if not all... except for the truly sick) people who read/write these things don't actually think about the actual situation they're putting the characters in, and it's likely they've made the people they're reading/writing about into objects instead of human beings :| i mean i know everyone's moral compass is different but when i see fics glamorizing serial killing or incest or whatever like it's nothing, it just really bothers me aglkaj. :|

I think that's like, what unsettles me the most, especially in RPF. This is an actual person, not a fictitious idea, and idk, just all sorts of stomach-twisting abounds. :///
