First off: this is so good omg thank you so much this is so awesome and tragic and perfect.
And in spite of everything, that song is still warm. Still comforting to me. Because when they sang lullabies, nothing hurt. Oh Margaret … *cries already*
They promised it wouldn’t hurt. That my soul would be well now. That it was all for the best. That I would live forever and serve It. I don’t want to live forever. Living forever hurts more than death. I remember begging. “Don’t make me live forever. Don’t make me. Let me go. Let me live like all the other girls, or let me die quickly, without pain. Don’t make me see more horrible people like you.” They didn’t listen. They didn’t see the darkness building inside of me. Oh … oh god …
No. I was meant for him. I was meant to help him save the world, in spite of what they said. I have found a great purpose. *cries*
So they led me to the meeting, dressed in white. They lifted me to the platform. They tied me down. They told me to scream as much as I wanted, to call It into the world.Oh god …

Awww! Margaret! I always feel so awful when it comes to her life and backstory, since it was very tragic! I think you did a great job with her death and transformation into a being of hatred and anger and then loneliness and emptiness before she found Linkara and her reason to live.
I also always love their partnership and you wrote about it so sweetly! The inclusion of the lullaby was even more depressing since it turned from a song of what she thought was love to despair, since she realized none of the cult members, and not even her parents, ever loved her. Poor thing.

I'm sorry for making you cry for most of the points.
I love Linkara and Margaret as partners. I think they have a great dynamic and I wanted to explore that a bit more.
