Orthopedist Update and more

Saw the orthopedist yesterday for a follow-up after the MRI.  The news is that the disc directly underneath my fusion is 100% gone and the disc beneath that (at the sacrum level) is 75% gone.   There is a large bone spur on one of the lumbar vertebrae but he isn't worried about that right now.  His recommendation is surgery.  It is a two hour

Oh wow, Ilene!!!! I can't imagine how your back must feel!!!

Definitely go with a second opinion, just to be sure and weigh things out.

Maybe after surgery, you will have less pain.

Sorry to hear that your MIL is having surgery again. I hope it stays repaired this time.

That sounds very painful. I think a second opinion is wise, I hope you get some slightly better news. Sorry to hear about your MIL as well :(

Thanks. I just spoke to my MIL and she is home, resting. So far so good. Trying to find a doctor for a second opinion. Will keep you posted.
