Halloween

I HATE Halloween. Check out daemon_will's latest post, I hate it for the same reasons and can't be bothered to explain them. . . but, today, for the first time in my life, I ended up celebrating it. Exactly! My employers were talking about making the house attractive for trick-or-treaters, and I said "Wow, this is a real first for me, where I come from you really don't want to make the house inviting at halloween, you'll end up with glue in the keyhole. Um, I don't actually come from a ghetto. . ."

No, I think the real I-live-in-a-ghetto moment for me was the time I frantically phoned you late one evening because we were under threat of having petrol poured through the letterbox and I needed somewhere to evacuate the kids to... Good old New Addington, eh?
