And I share a lot of these loves. Just out of curiosity, why was "First Date" the episode Buffy fell off her pedestal for you?
(My Buffy love developed somewhat differently; I liked her well enough in the early seasons, but she was by no means my favourite. Actually, my favourite during season 2 and 3 was Cordelia. It was increasingly emotionally scarred, messed-up later Buffy I fell in love with. Who keeps trying.)
Oh, and I claim the honour of being a Wesley supporter from the first hour when practically everyone else hated him - in third season BTVS. It started in "Consequences" when he came back to the library and said "what can I do".
First Date because that was when Buffy chose to rush over and look at a barely-wounded Spike (who is a vampire and thus hardy) when one of her 'best friends' had a gut wound. It was mega ouch for me.
And good for you with Wes. At the time, I wasn't a fan, sadly.
