if Jack/Emily were what Nolan believes they should be
I think Nolan sees it more as Jack as a tether tying Amanda back to the humanity she had before her childhood was stolen from her. If I really cared about Jack, I'd be steering him away from Emily because she's going to him destroyed.
Or more accurately, Jack will get himself destroyed by being on the periphery of one of Emily's plots - because Jack can't just get duped... no... he has to be a dupe with a tremendous amount of misguided initiative.
Yeah. Of course, as long as he's so desperate and throwing himself blindly into cause after cause, many things are dangerous for Jack... Poor guy.
I guess Nolan thinks that if he were back with the real Amanda, he'd stop chasing her ghost. But that's a stretch. And he'd have a real problem with her if he actually knew... He just doesn't share her agenda or vision or values...
Actually, the thing that interested me was just how much Amanda would have learned at that party. And how she's still that angry girl, just with better dresses and hair.

Ha, so true.

Yes. They did a great job of showing us how much Amanda got out of that one party and how she would go on to use it later.
I didn't even realize Tyler was possessed by Klaus. I must have been seething too much to see anything, lol. I still think that given the fact we didn't see his whole body burn his body may still be intact. The fact he didn't burn completely was my first clue he wasn't really dead BTW.
MTE about Stefan saving Matt's life. I was actually glad he did. I really didn't want Matt to die and I knew Elena just couldn't so. ;)

Part of the problem was that Michael didn't do a great job playing Klaus, unfortunately. That still stood out to me on the second viewing.
SO excited for vampire Elena. And yeah, it's going to be interesting to see how she reacts to those forgotten memories.
The moment when Stefan saved Matt's life instead of Elena's was the one time when he actually seemed like he was genuinely respecting Elena's choices rather than, you know, using the facade of respect as a way to worm back into being her boyfriend again.
THIS.
And Tyler is possessed, so he's still buried in there somewhere, but Klaus is in control. That's an intriguing set-up for next season.
Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of how they actually executed the twist/reveal, but I think this scenario gives them a LOT to work with and could be a really great arc.
Except that I'll miss Joseph Morgan. He was really good as Klaus.
I honestly think he'll be back :) And I agree, I think he's done a great job.
I spent, like, four days being annoyed at the show, but I'm excited again now. lol. I am interested in vampire!Elena and how she'll be different from human!Elena.
I just need to avoid all Julie Plec interviews, I think.

I hope that Michael T. studies Joseph's acting over the break and comes back armed with his mannerisms. Because it does have a lot of potential as an arc.
Or that Joseph comes back as Klaus quickly. That would work too.
Oh, I'm so pleased you're excited again! And yeah, the whole idea of vampire Elena is just eating my brain right now. So, SO excited for this.

Haha, probably! I honestly like Julie a lot, but I once said that her interviews are the real world equivalent of talking to Stefan and expecting the plain and full truth and I stand by it.

It really does. Although like you, I hope we get JoMo back as Klaus sooner rather than later! :D
