Oh yeah, Obi-Wan certainly gets pissy when he doesn't know what's going on.
Hee! Anakin wants to eat his cake (Padme) and have it too (Obi-Wan).
Somehow, I think Obi-Wan is going to freak. I *know* Luke is going to be discombobulated, though he'll smooth that over. Leia and Han, though, are going to have *words*. Many words. Snarky ones.

He really does. He gets all snarky.

I was expecting Anakin to tell Obi-Wan about killing the Tuskens, because that's another secret he's keeping. I wonder if he will ever talk about it. I hope he will, as this secret is much more dangerous than his love for Padme.

Falling in love is definitely the lesser crime -- Anakin would certainly agree with that.

One criticism: the sentence “Once, he’d [Threepio] still been in the room when Anakin and Padmé had…” really doesn’t work for me. The sly humor breaks the intensity between Anakin and Obi-wan. If you just left the paragraph at “Threepio always knew when to stay silent for Anakin.” It works better, because it suggest Threepio’s loyalty, and familiarity, it lightly echoes Obi-wan’s loyalty and familiarity.

Wonderful kiss, I like the fact Anakin was feeling Obi-wan's pulse, and the image of Anakin tentivaly feeling his way around this new/old emotion. I also like the possessiveness of the wrist holding, as if he is not sure if Obi-wan will pull away or not, and he will not let Obi-wan pull away.
Anakin does have a certain amount of uncertainty in regards to the people he loves, definitely.

*tilts head*
I do believe that you're right. Thank you.

Though it is consistent with your characterization of Anakin. When I read the scene a second time over it reminded me, frightingly so, of the scene where Anakin tells Leia that he did no wrong in marrying Padme. Both times he's admiting to something he KNOWS the listener will disaprove of, both times he uses his physical affection (intimidation) to help convince them that he's right. The difference is that where Leia intuitively distrusts/hates Anakin/Darth Vader, Obi-Wan believes/loves him fully.
Wow, that's a really great point. I hadn't put those two scenes together in my head, but they do have a lot in common. Thank you.
Wanted to comment that your 3CPO a couple of chapters back (when Anakin is poking out for his memories) was incredible; I could hear his voice speaking, especially when he exclaims that he certainly doesn't want to be conscious and see his insides. As someone who's loved 3CPO since she was a little girl, I was very happy!Thank you! I really do find C3PO a lot of fun. He's a very real character, and ( ... )
