And yes, the whole "if only they'd talked" thing kills me. Because I can understand why they didn't and yet... if only they'd talked.

Anakin. Wanting to fic everything is what got to you to where you were in the first place.
Though what Luke said about not being sure yet... perhaps it is not Luke's past. Maybe it is like a parallel world! (see me DENY the pain)
Just a beautiful piece.

And yeah, Anakin doesn't always learn from his mistakes.

It's painful to see how Obi-Wan is trying to put some distance between himself and Anakin after he realizes how much Anakin feels for Padmé. I have the feeling this is Obi-Wan's attempt to avoid facing his own emotions.
Nice touch that Anakin sees Padmé in both Luke and Leia - and doesn't see that they both have things in common with him as well. Obi-Wan on the other hand sees Anakin in both Luke and Leia.
More soon?

Yeah, Obi-Wan really isn't ready to feel everything that he's feeling.

Thank you. I really liked that part myself, so, yay!

Anakin shrugged, completely giving up on getting Han to say ‘Anakin’ instead of ‘kid’.
Han is treating Anakin just like he treated Luke! :)
“Well done, Anakin,” Obi-Wan said, and Anakin felt the familiar warmth of Obi-Wan’s approval surge through him. Odd that he should feel it so strongly, even though Obi-Wan still seemed to be disconnected from the Force.
This line contrasts so well and so sad with this:
Anakin made his decision, at that moment. Whatever had happened, whatever he’d ended up doing in this future, he would make up for it. When they found a way back to the past, he would make that look in Obi-Wan’s eyes go away. He would find a way to prove that loving Padmé did not mean he had to stop being a Jedi. He would win back Obi-Wan’s respect.

Obi-Wan looked at him, now, and Anakin could see small hints of weariness and anger and grief and fear - all the little emotions that Obi-Wan tried so hard to fight, harder than he ever fought any battle droid. Obi-Wan fought against ( ... )

Thanks!
Leia had Padmé's chin, sharp and arresting, and her coloring, strong and dark. Luke echoed her in the wideness of his eyes and in the delicacy of his features, each line placed just so. And when Anakin reached out with the Force, he could feel Padmé's fierce determination in Leia and her equally fierce kindness in Luke.
I agree with most of this! :) But Leia's chin at times reminds me more of Anakin's. JMHO. When she gets fierce. :)
This was hard. I spent quite a while staring at various pictures of them, trying to work out what came where. And even then, it's still debatable, I agree.
Anakin's fierce determination to make what once was wrong right is one of those things that I adore about this character. Those last three paragraphs really did me in--I got all teary. :( But it's okay.
I always get attached to characters who passionately try their hardest. Even if they fail, even if their task is impossible. I love them for trying.
