Testing lights by turning off all the backstage ones is NOT THAT GOOD OF AN IDEA, especially when I don't know my cue and people are frantically trying to get around. It's also not a way to get the people backstage to shut up, because when the lights go off, we're not going to be quiet and freeze where we are. We're going to panic ( Read more... )

Mr. Awkward Turtle is the same reason I'm debating on going on the NYC trip.

Gah. NaNo. I feel like I should do it, but I don't really have any desire to anything with it right now. And I feel like I'm going to feel that way for the rest of November, in which case I will fail. :P Bleh.

Force yourself. It's not that cool and it's not that fun, but slowly and surely it's working. Did you get the email?

Yes. But it didn't inspire me, really. It would be great to do it and all, but I don't feel a spark or anything and I don't feel like I even want to open up the document at all. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. I don't know.

At least promise me you'll try. Really sit down and try-try, not just a surface-try.

I think you're in the middle of another mood swing, so I'm going to suggest that you get some sleep about now. ♥

This stuff always makes me feel energetic.

"I'll Come Running", by Lulu. Sixties girl pop, anyone?

"Ta Doleur" - Camille. French beatboxing.

Everything Franz Ferdinand. You can find both their albums on any file-sharing program, like Soulseek.

Last one, I promise. "Rock A Bye Rock" - Buddy Holly. Wonderful rockabilly from the 1950s.

Hope you like them!

I had almost the same apprehensions about being in the top band this year - all of the seniors, etc. What really helped was that we had a band retreat on the second weekend of the school year. It really helped me bond and feel comfortable with the seniors, and now I'm friends with quite a few of them. Maybe you could suggest something like that to Mr. Mindt? It helped a lot, and everyone really enjoyed it.

Ooooh thanks for the music!!!! I will start the downloading right away. ^^

Mr. Mindt was going to have something like that over the summer, but he never did. I really wish he had, because I know it would've helped. All the little games and activites we played the first three days of classes failed once we buckled down and got to the serious work, and the class differences really emerged. Now I'm almost wondering if it's too late to fix anything.
