Sooo there will soon be a conservative answer to Comedy Central's news hour of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report--The ½ Hour News Hour. As a liberal who greatly enjoys Stewart and Colbert, I've frequently wondered about such a show and if it would be funny and would it be a success. Here's a preview clip.

I do believe that this does a better job of highlighting everything that's wrong with the conservatives than The Daily Show could ever do.

wow, they used the same exact laugh track a billion times in a row, with the volume turned up for the "funnier" jokes. how could they expect us not to notice?

This is...not funny at all. Just pathetic. "Ha, ha, Barack's initials are B.O....let's laugh about it for 5 minutes. Ha, ha, Democrats like cocaine."

Meh. Most of the jokes fell a bit flat, but some of that is due to the anchors. The 99.9% joke, for instance, was a good one; he just didn't know how to sell it. And two anchors is all wrong for this sort of thing; Weekend update just passes one-line stories back and forth. If they're trying for the Daily Show extended riff, they either need to cut to one (because otherwise the other guy is just sitting there wasted) or increase the banter quota something awful.

God. Not a trace of irony, not a blessed bloody trace. Jon dishes out a hell of a lot of friendly fire, and they make jokes about the *Democratic Congress* destroying the US's international reputation?
