Only wanna see you laughing in the purple rain

Entertainment Weekly had a list of the 50 Greatest Love Songs of all time. It was an all right--"In Your Eyes" was 10, and "Time After Time", "Rosilita (Come Out Tonight)", "Just Like Heaven", the incomperable "Purple Rain" (which I just listened to again and remembered why I fell in love with it in the fist place)--even, surprisingly "There is a ( Read more... )

I agree! I'm pretty sure anyone who would want gmail has it by now.

And if not money, maybe higher billing in google searches--so that if someone Googles "kickass livejournal", mine is the top link. WOuldn't you think?

"In Your Eyes" is the best love song ever written, in my humble opinion. And I've had the great good fortune of seeing Peter sing it live twice. And each time, it was absolutely sublime.

Which Eddie Izzard DVD? Benjy and I are big fans. We got to see him in Oct. of '03...really funny.

Hope you and your girl had a good one.

Oh, I also had another Alden sighting last week...through the glass in the library...he was gone before I could get out the door. Bizarre. Perhaps it's just not meant to be.

Later.

Oh, we had a good several!

And curse you for having seen Peter Gabriel, Eddie Izzard, and Peter Gabriel again--not to mention Lewis Black. Did he do "Solsbury Hill"? or "I Grieve" from "City of Angels" and "Lovetown" from "Philadelphia?

And she gave me "Definite Article", which was superb. I love the stuff that wasn't on the album--that thing he said about how if you spun the batteries in the remote, it was sure to give you a weeks more battery life. That was fucking brilliant--because everyone does that! And there's no point.

Good luck tracking Alden down. Have you facebooked him?

Have you facebooked him

Nah, I really don't do facebook much. I'll friend him, though.

In the two times I've seen Peter, he did do Solisbury Hill (both times), but he didn't do I Grieve or Lovetown. He did do Games Without Frontiers the second time I saw him, which was really cool. But the two best numbers were Growing Up and Signal to Noise...simply mesmerising.

Oh, we had a good several!

Golly, Basil...I admire your stamina.

I don't know those three. Mayhap I shall download them. Peter Gabriel is muy under-rated--and the video for "Sledgehammer"! How hot is that?

And...thank you! I didn't think it would be uncommon...but thanks!
