2nd Lily Preemptive

She'd showered for a very, very long time, and afterward, she'd tended to the wounds with some first aid things she'd found in the bathroom. The bandage over her bitemark was clumsy and awkward, but at least she wasn't bleeding openly from it.

Studying herself in the mirror, she wondered if she shouldn't look different. If she shouldn't be bearing more outward scars to mirror her internal ones.

Why was she here, really? Because of Severus? James? Because she'd managed to circumvent Voldemort's task - defied him again? Or was there something else? Was it random?

Rubbing her hands beneath her eyes and making sure she was as covered as she could be with the given attire, Lily decided to try her luck in the hall again.

It was that or sit and wait where no one could find her.

She managed to make it down the hall unmolested, and all the way to the door. There she paused before she eased it open. Gazing out into the blank greyness, she wondered if she should wait for the cover of darkness ... then thought better of it. She didn't really have time to waste.

Emerald eyes set on the business area, and she started toward it. Her path brought her closer to the castle than she would have liked, but it was the most direct path. While she did keep eyes and ears out for anyone who was going to assault her - or better yet, rescue her - she couldn't watch all sides at the same time.

Even when she made the cover of the buildings, she knew she wasn't home free. But here she stood a better chance of finding a weapon. At this point, she would have settled for anything.

Speaking of anything ... her eyes fell to a scattering of stones, and she dug through them. coming up with a moderately jagged one that fit well in her hand, she reasoned this would work for a start - until she found something better.
