I inherited my love of language (and of the correct usage of it) from my father. One of Dad's biggest pet peeves is the frequent misuse of the word "decimate." On the news, in movies, "decimate" is tossed around as though it means "obliterate" or "wipe out completely." But break it down: "decimus" is Latin
