Moose meatballs and autumn weather

I bought some minced moose meat earlier this week, and I've been putting off cooking it for a few days. Since I woke up with a headache from hell and spent the morning in bed with a towel over my head, I didn't think I'd be up to making meatballs tonight. I boggle, though, at your ready access to moose. I could get it if I drove to the Super-Big-Box Hunting Emporium over the state line from here, but that would take almost three hours drive. I suppose there might be ways to get it closer to home, but we aren't as big on game-eating here in the US (despite all the second amendment rifle evangelists). I think we suspect that we've fouled the environment enough to make game a dodgy bet.

Sure thing. Moose isn't available everywhere, but most larger supermarkets, and definitely all speciality butchers carry moose during the autumn hunting season ( ... )
