[Phone - Filtered to Finn, Jake, and Bubblegum; Valvatorez can overhear this at the house as well]

IN a few minutes, Haruko is outside Marceline's house, bass in hand.
Which very quickly flies through Marceline's front window.]
There's your goddamn guitar!
Merry fucking Christmas!

Marceline...
[kjakjdf but how to even start. "I'm sorry" doesn't even begin to cover it; treating someone this important to her like shit, and then forgetting about her... NOPE NOPE NOPE no good there aren't actually adequate words in any language she knows.
LE SIGH.
Still... even if it's inadequate by several orders of magnitude, it feels like something she needs to say, if only to make sure that Marceline knows that it's true; it wouldn't un-hurt her, but knowing that your friend cares about your feelings can't be a bad thing, right?]
...I'm sorry. I'm a total butt, and you have every right to be mad.

You of all people should know that dead people - ones that didn't even really die, on that note - don't stay dead here.
[That last line is harsh. Marceline know it will probably hurt. But she doesn't care right now.]

...I never believed you were dead.
[The thought had chewed her mind raw, but staunch determination had held it at bay. Of course, it'd been replaced by another answer, one that was certainly more comforting, but... still allowed the town's main delusion in.]
I just thought... they'd sent you home.
[Because what else was there? She wouldn't believe Marcie was dead, and couldn't believe she was here; aside from blurring the definition of 'existence', there weren't many other conclusions for her to draw.]

I acted exactly the same. You've been here long enough to know that people act like those poo-brained drones when they're not here. So that's totally not a good excuse.

[Not that anyone would actually give them to her...]
