enjoying summer:
last week i ventured to the saks f&f sale and came out with a pair of joe's jeans and a juicy couture bathing suit. i was so excited that both fit and that the bathing suit didn't make me feel/look like a barnyard animal. so now i have a real, non-competition, bathing suit. it's probably been 20 years since i've had one of these.
over the weekend we went to ikea and came out with a bistro set (finally my patio furniture knowledge paid off) for our balcony. we then cooked dinner on our grill.
also on sunday i woke up bright and early to check out
calypso at target. i like a lot of it and bought 3 shirts, the bathing suit cover up, and the pajamas. oh, and the belt which is super cute. there were other women swarming around the collection and it seemed to be well received by everyone.
loosing weight:
last week i lost another 1.4 pounds... i am nearly to the next lower tens place. :) i am noticing a lot in the way my clothes fit. my button down shirts are now much larger. the shirt i am wearing today used to require fashion tape to keep closed at the bust. that is not the case anymore. yay!
live shows:

we saw two live shows in the past week. we took my grandmother to see willie nelson's birthday party last saturday and the saw a completely different crowd last night for arcade fire. the arcade fire show was completely sold out (this is more sold out than just "sold out," mind you) and did so in 15 minutes on a thursday morning. i marvel at the lack of productivity in the city when that happened. anyway, on saturday it was full, but yesterday it was packed. everyone standing shoulder to shoulder (and the capacity is just under 7000).
we didn't get there when the doors opened, i knew there were two opening bands i didn't care to see. so we arrived at about 8:20pm and the arcade fire was going to start at 9. guess what? they actually did. they started on time! novel. we were pretty far back but since it was on an incline i had a decent view. i loved their set, with the screens and pennants. they played several of my favorites "city with no children," "keep the car running," and "no cars go." i personally love their second album most but knew they would be promoting the new one more. i was right. we left right as the encore was starting in order to be able to get out of the parking lot and we did with no problem.
good show! would not hesitate to see them again.
