{Twenty-two} &diams Talking about a past and future secret

I found something in the Wilderness that seems impossible, even for this place. I believe I may be the only person in Edensphere familiar with these pepperpot-like robots, so how was I able to find a toy version of one in one of the stores? For that matter, who would make this thing into a toy in the first place? It is not as though it is an ( Read more... )

Don't worry- toy robots aren't terribly uncommon. Myself and Gundam have found small modeling kits of some from our dreams or memories. I presume it's the Tree playing games.

More Tree games. Why am I not surprised?

But why did it have to create a toy of something so [a few pen taps] evil?

I'm sure the same reason it has a tendency to 'make toys of' us all.

A good point. It does seem to delight in finding new and interesting ways to torment us all.

Maybe it's just the Tree again.

Nothing is impossible here, unfortunately. Pepperpot like bot. Mind drawing a picture? I can't picture this.

Never think anything is impossible, here. ...How odd that feels familiar.

Just one more thing to grow accustomed to, I suppose. You would think it would be easier to do that what with the memory loss.

I'd believe that if we didn't get hints of our former lives, that makes it more difficult. The more we strain to know, the less comfortable what made us feel something familiar becomes.

What is a robot?

burntorangesky January 9 2010, 23:45:53 UTC
It is a mechanical creature, inorganic, that has an artificial intelligence, a computer brain. I believe they are then programed to do a variety of tasks, most often jobs that organic creatures find wearisome or dangerous.

I am [pen taps] not entirely certain this creature is one, but it seems to fit most of the criteria for 'robot', save perhaps the last part.

Computer.

I remember reading a vague explanation of what one was.

How does one transfer intelligence to the computer?

Hoo, boy... burntorangesky January 10 2010, 01:41:17 UTC
You have to write a program for it, something that tells it what to do. The better the program that is written, the smarter the resulting intelligence is.

They can get rather complex and involved, especially if you were writing a program for a more advanced robot and not just, say, a robot meant only for cleaning rooms.
