Genteel psycho killer girl. Every time.

After all, 1920s makes for a good studied piece but might be difficult to sustain and has a limited appeal.

Cross-dressing girl; the whole point is that the mask comes off at some point, at which point things get tough unless she's got backbone, a la Monstrous Regiment.

You can also combine psycho assassin girl with any number of other themes (including cross-dressing, naturally); and there's any amount of RL stuff that would have suited the character, not limited to the 18th Century.

e.g. cross-dressing psycho assassin girl in the 1920s; the careers of Middle East 'liaison officers' like Gertrude Bell certainly had their shady sides; it wouldn't be stretching credibility impossibly to suggest a slightly more black-ops version.

(Of course, there's always the risk of writing 'Modesty Blaise in petticoats'; but the MB books do have zing, even when they're crap.)

Tube map: can name all stations.

Since I live in London, it's probably not surprising.

WHY? Why would anyone want to resurrect these incredibly uncomfortable things? The poppers would come undone when you least expected it, or stuck, or would take ages to do up. And why do you feel the need to wear one of these anyway? What advantages does it have over a bog standard top?

Oi! *rushes to the defence of bodysuits* When they were in fashion, way back in the day, they were bloody brilliant... As a sub-£5 alternative to ridiculously expensive dance leotards. Iron two strips of velcro in the gusset and another 3 strips over each leg arch and they'd stick to my dance tights/leggings and reduce popper-popping embarrassment.

I will concede that they weren't the most useful article of clothing and could turn fairly frantic sex into a hazardous situation where someone WOULD lose an eye. But for dancing when going through 2-3 leotards a term was normal, they were GREAT.
