This is a special post by request.  It’s not the most topical thing I could write about, going by what’s in the news, but it is still important and still something we should be righteously indignant about.

Honestly, I'm always amazed by the Republican capacity for self-delusion. Somewhere in his brain I'm sure Bush has a little hidden syllogism in his vast and complicated self-justification matrix that reads:

A: We don't torture.
B: Therefore, anything we do cannot be torture by virtue of A.
C: We waterboard.
D: Waterboarding is not torture by virtue of B.

*Offer void in all states whose name contains one or more vowels.
