Well, I've just always thought of them as two separate elements. I can't do anything fire-related with my lightning powers, unless it's something like trying to set a pile of dead leaves on fire. And I know someone with fire powers who can't do anything related to lightning, as far as I've seen.

Different worlds, I guess. Not all firebenders in my world can use lightning. I can redirect it if it's thrown at me, but I can't create it. [Pause] Yet. Working on it.

Redirecting it, huh...? [She hasn't ever thought of that before, but it's an intriguing possibility. She has yet to meet a NEXT lightning wielder on her level aside from Matilda/Julia, but maybe she could eventually try controlling natural lightning or electricity generated outside of herself. Because that is totally not potentially fatal or anything like that!] How do you do something like that?
