So my reading today was Acts 13, and the first few verses caught my eye:

I think the action/office distinction is important, even in the OT (cf Saul's prophesying). The elders at Sinai didn't occupy the office of prophet, but the Spirit fell on them so they responded accordingly. So I think by "being prophets," Moses means having the communion with the Holy Spirit that marks prophets and produces prophetic manifestations, rather than the role within the (OT or NT) Church of speaking words from God to the people ( ... )
