When darkness dared to catch him, he could hardly breath. Walls were falling down, bodies were lying in the streets, the rivers and seas no longer held water but blood.
The feel of cold fingers closing around his neck made him shiver but his body refused to move, to turn, to run. His eyes, open wide, seeing nothing, as everything blacked out.
The whisper of his name caressed his cold white cheek, as hot lips kissed him goodbye.
Her scent still lingered in the air when Zak opened his eyes, no burning flesh, no death.
It was all a dream.
