This...this is the greatest thing I've read in sometime. Especially because this is livejournal.
California, well the rest of it isn't like SANFRAN...although I have never been there I've heard stories.

But I am glad you did vent what you did. I went to the Art Institute for a bit and I absolutely loathed it for every fuckin' reason you hate where you are.

I don't know you (obviously) but you seem like a very intelligent girl...do what's best for you. In my personal opinion you'd most likely love a tradition UC/CalState.

i'm not going to be staying in california, just because i'm leaving at the end of the semester and there really aren't any schools here that I am interested in...I'm hoping a liberal arts school that has concentrations in art as well as other areas (philosophy, women's studies, english) would work. Of course I'm just operating on a hope and a prayer that wherever I end up going after this infestation of fake intellectual artistry will be better. If not, well then fuck it, I'm not going to go to a fourth school for my undergrad.

i go to sarah lawrence, and it's crazy......we pretty much go to the same school. like, essentially. if you come here you will be getting the exact same thing, only difference is that it will come from the theater, literature, political science, and cultrual studies folk as WELL as the art students (the dancers are a meek little bunch and noone ever sees the music students). but on the plus side, there are some really cool people here who can see through the bullshit and are about something, and they are why i stayed.

hang in there babe. and don't forget, you are waaaay cooler than they will ever be. in life.

i'm not feeling new york anyway. I just liked that the campus was beautiful and they had both gender studies and graphic design.

I don't know why everyone here doesn't realize that everything they are doing and everything that will ever do has already been done so they should just be true to themselves and stop trying so god damn hard.
