Fic: The Carapace Histories

Sam learns to drive in Tupelo, Mississippi. It’s a birthday present. He isn’t supposed to learn for another year, but he can reach the pedals and the steering wheel and Dean thinks that’s good enough.

Dean sits in the passenger seat, gives directions and tips while Sam drives too slow and precise. Almost respectful.

“Remember Sam, cops suck.”

Lovely. Liked the 4th one the best, cause we went from being one with the car and family to being an orphan. Also really liked the last one, with Dean seeing someone else when he looks in the mirror and things are different.

I don't know why, but Dean's commentary on "Our Town" hit me hard. The dialogue would be stupid without any context but I really like the flow of it and the space it leaves for all that's left unsaid.

Awesome collection of snippets. I really liked number 4 and 8 though. They both have the same theme, but have a completely different tone. They're both about Dean and how much he identifies with the car and they are destroyed together. The imagery in 4 is beautiful and eerie and the start of 8 sounds like car porn, until it gets brutal. In short, great job.
