Seattle Public Air-Conditioning

Help me compile the list - confirmed locations only please. Preference to local business and public places where it's OK to hang out, like libraries. Many libraries do not have AC - Montlake, Fremont and Queen Anne libraries did not last time I visited each.

UW• Sureshot Coffee, 45th & University Way - wicked good white coffee, try it ( Read more... )

you tell me, weather, fragile flower, seattle

I think you could add every public building in the city.
Plus 90% of all coffee shops. at least every Starbucks,Tully's or Peet's.
And all Shoping Malls and Movie Theaters.

I need places where I can hang out for several hours at a go - it's great to know about Starbucks, Tully's and Peet's, looks like they'll be getting my business! Thank you!

I'm hoping to find some more local businesses to support while compiling the list cuz I'm a pinko-commie hippy, GRiN

I sure all library branches are air conditioned.

Alas, no. I confirmed 2 weeks ago that Montlake is not.

Queen Anne wasn't as of last summer.

Fremont wasn't as of two summers ago.

Seattle just isn't set up for this kind of heat...

Have you confirmed if the Capitol Hill branch does?

Alas, they don't.

I know for a fact that Montlake, Fremont and Queen Anne libraries do not have AC.

Montlake, as of 2 weeks ago
Queen Anne, as of last summer
Fremont, as of the summer before that

so it's possible that the latter two have been upgraded.

Any local businesses you've found on Capitol Hill yet?

Thank you :)

I also called and confirmed that the Seattle Asian Art Museum has it, but they close at 5pm Tuesday-Sunday, 9pm Thursdays, closed Mondays. Good after work Thursday option...

Capitol Hill has so got to have more AC places then this. I theorize. Going to check out some of the chain coffee shops and confirm, on a day that's less hot than this ;)
