They make really nice, lightweight, lined aluminum water bottles. You can get them from REI, Whole Foods, or the web site. They're a bit more expensive initially, but people love them.
I just picked up a much larger water bottle from this line, that has no cap, but has the flip top on it. It it has a vent hole under the cap so you can drink from it easily. But the cap actually stays locked on it in my backpack, which I need. You have to actually PUSH it open to flip it up. It has a big "mouth" to drink from too, though. And the "mouth" has a tiny dip in it for smooth pouring as well.
And it was only $2 at central market. Totally reusable, dishwasher safe, and inexpensive. :)

yeah, it's a hard clear plastic. None of that squeezy nonsense.
I am far too clumbsy for those, myself. And I don't like the regular water bottle designs because the lids are a pain in the ass to keep track of. but this is easy, flip and drink, flip and close. drinking from it is easy enough that I will actually drink ENOUGH water.
OH OH....you need the get the wide mouth .5L nalgene bottles and get the sippy cup insert. it's not a sucking kind of sippy cup top....it's just a silicon insert that makes a big hole that sloshes water all down my shirt when the car starts, into a smaller sippy port with a vent. I love mine, I still get the ease of cleaning that comes with a wide mouth and the water comes out as easily, it just doesn't slosh over the sides.
