It's not just what you said, it's what another reviewer said that made me realize that my not knowing what I'm doing anymore HAS started to show. This always seems to happen in tandem: if I hit against a brick wall with my fiction, my readers can see it, because that's when the opinions start becoming nit-picky and more critical. When I'm on the ball, like I was with "Hana Ni Arashi" for all 30 chapters, I was doing fabulous. The only complaints were from pairing shippers who didn't like how the romances were going and those could be ignored because that's just reader bias and not having anything to do with the story itself. But this stuff about my representation of Yuugi's character not being right has come up before. If I can't write him right, then I shouldn't write him at all. I think that's probably one of the reasons why I threw Atem and Sarah together. I kind of gave up on Yuugi. :(
