I can understand wanting a break. Although my idea of a break from the internets is a day, and no longer.

Wow, it seems like the internets, phones, personal computers, etc have been in our lives forever, not just the short amount of time they have been here (well, relatively speaking). I much prefer having them, tbh.

I think part of that is that we've had a computer in the house since I was very little. From the old AMSTRAD to the Commodore 64 and the Vic 20, plus the Ataris, etc. I've grown up with computers, they're an extension of me, but I didn't get a mobile until about 2007 (I actually had an ipod before a mobile, lol) but now I can't see life without one. I rarely call, because I have anxiety issues with talking on the phone, so texting is a blessed thing for me.

yeah. my first computer was a commodore PET 2001! but when i lived in winnipeg (for less than a year) i didn't have one.

i hardly call anyone either. back then i used to call a lot, though, and leave rambly messages on answering machines, which seems really weird to me now.

I've done it, here and there; usually when I have company in town and I'm busy doing other stuff.

It always does these wonderful things for my sense of perspective.

Yeah. It's kind of funny how little I really feel the *need* to check in sometimes ... it just becomes a thing to do. Obviously, there are some very cool, very important things I do online that I couldn't before; but day to day, a lot of it's not really necessary.
