For the (very) second time since I began my love affair with World War fiction in den Ländern settings, I read of myself in the plot again!

Always as minor characters, of course - the first being the baby of a refugee family in A Thread of Grace by Mary Doria Russell and once more, today, as a railway boy who was so unimpressionable that I can't say ( Read more... )

Pfaffenstein is a pretty cool name. XD Is it a real place? :O

Yeah. It is a real place in the east of Germany, in southeastern Sachsen. However, the House of Pfaffenstein as well as Schloss Pfaffenstein exist merely in fiction, it seems.
