There's a map on your Pokégear, the device you're not using, that will show you where the city is. Though I imagine Mitsuki will contact you once she sees this.

Yep. The roads are full on wild Pokémon that will attack you once you step into the long grass. The Pokémon you have is meant to be fighting them to protect you and to get stronger herself.
