Arrrggh, Theo keeps getting out of the garden to visit the pair of little terrier ladies who are staying with their owner's Mum at the top of it. And he won't do it when I'm looking at him!
Yes, I'm pretty sure that whatever they were twittering as they fled had a lot of curses in it. But honestly, right in the middle of the road? Exhibitionist wrens!
Hope you manage to find Theo's secret passage out of the garden. Is there any chance he is going under rather than through? Pip used to be an inveterate wriggler-under...
I'm pretty sure he is going under. Having shortish legs and a long wiggly body, wriggling is very much his method of choice. The question is: under where? I've staked the fencing with heavy steel stakes, and I'm pretty sure he can't get under it because when he gets stuck the wrong side, he tries and can't do it. So he must be using a different exit, but it is a Secret. :-/
It is a known fact that there are gaps in garden fences that can be used only on the way out, not as a way in. Like one-way dimensional holes. Some dogs are really good at finding these!
I suspect him of having made one of those one-way holes. But I can't prove it since it also seems to be a hole that only exists when the dog is unobserved...

Also, do not think I have ever read a description of avian insemination before. How did I miss that in high school biology class?
